What is the Signaling Transport Protocol (SigTran)?
The SigTran or Signaling Transport Protocol is one of the IETF working groups established in 1999. This protocol in the NGN network consists of SG, MG, MGC, and application and media servers.
The above protocol is used to transmit signal number seven between MGC and SG. The SigTran Working Group has defined the SCTP protocol to address TCP deficiencies.
